As you know health care costs continue to rise and, unfortunately, so have my health care needs. Although I continue to work quite actively as a coach and therapist, the reality is my health care costs far outpace my ability to meet these demands and that places me in a precarious situation. I have to be ever vigilant in guarding against infection, and monitoring all the bodily functions so many are able to take for granted. With the effects of aging (which quadriplegics do at double speed) the situation has become even more precarious for me. I have a staff of seven people, each of whom plays a critical role in helping me maintain the functional abilities I still have and I support them without any government funding.
If you want to help, your donations are absolutely appreciated. Here are three great ways you can contribute:
Make a donation via this blog: A contribution link has been set up for you but please note, it will appear as though you are leaving a contribution with Laura Young, a close friend of nearly 20 years and the primary owner of this blog space. Please do not be concerned about this as all donations coming through Typepad (SixApart) are clearly identified for her via PayPal and 100% of all contributions coming through this way are given to me as soon as they enter my account. Laura absorbs all TypePad and PayPal fees to ensure that EVERY PENNY of your intended donation get to me.

Make a donation directly: If you prefer to send a direct donation via check, money order, or cash, please send me an e-mail and he will provide you with his mailing address.
Get an autographed copy of Don't Blame the Game! This is a wonderful way to give me a hand AND do something great for yourself. This is the story of how I went from a star hockey player injured at age 16 in a playoff series to became the first quadriplegic ever to walk again without the aid of braces, defying all the odds. And thank you, all, for your support, prayers and well wishes.
