"Living on the edge" ... we've heard this many times in reference to people who enjoy to taking risks. However, there is definitely no truer meaning to "living on the edge" when you are living with a life threatening disease. Indeed, the cure is welcomed by the physical body; but the disease is a remedy for the spirtual self.
