Hmmmm, I think it's time to "start a fire" in more ways than one! Thanks for this insight.

Good ideas/thoughts....how many things am I hanging onto from my previous life as a consultant, and from all my years in a wheelchair? I actually started the process earlier this week by letting go of my suits that I wore while consulting (and haven't fit for over 12 years)... gave them away to our church garage sale. It was hard to let them go, as they were such a part of my identity for so long. Now I just need to work on the files of papers, articles, information, etc. that I have in my office...hey, its still cool enough for a fire in the fireplace, right?

Randy, this is so huge. I'll be writing a larger post on this. You are reminding me of how often I saw people in the pain program go through this. In fact, in rehab in general. When does the paraplegic pass on his skiis? Our identity gets so bound up in our stuff. Huge topic!

Hi, I came over from the "Organize Your Life" carnival, and this is great stuff! I'm a book-lover myself, but you're right; some I really don't like after reading them, and their message is so corrosive that they are not even worthy of donating to my local library. If the library wants to buy it, fine, but it's not getting spread around by me. Thanks for your thoughts.
